Farmers' Market Prints from Yee-Haw Industries

I love everything about these hand letter-pressed posters from Yee-haw Industries for the Knoxville Tennessee Regional & Organic Farmers' Market - the type setting, the fonts, the design and the giant, vegetable illustrations.

They're all available* from their Etsy store, be warned though, there are lots of great prints and posters in there - you will want to buy everything!

* UK peeps check out the shipping policies as there is a minimum order (but that shouldn't be a problem!)

Serie Waves Surfart - Tom Veiga

I’m loving the simplicity of these Tom Veiga Surfart posters, they’re very beautiful and fresh looking.

Serie Waves
is a collection of work, “inspired by the sensations and feelings that the sea wind, the sun's heat and movement of the waves pass”. They bring together Veiga’s passion for design and his love of surfing, “each wave has a shape, color, a feature unique, and it all inspired me to reflect the beauty of the sea and the waves through the design”.

Check out the Serie Waves Blog for a sneaky peak at new work and information about future exhibitions.

If surf art is your thing, take a look at our surf photography posts here, here and here.

Half price posters!

There's some great half price posters over on Bandito Design Co. in their Christmas sale. These are my favourites - $10 each - bargain!

The Orange Series

This great new series of 2 colour screen prints from Popcorny - 'The Orange Series' are fantastic. I love the orange and brown colour combo - very retro. Together with the bold blocks of colour and patterns they create a very nostaglic feel.

I think they'd make super Christmas presents and are available on their Etsy store.

An Apple A Day…

I love the new version of David Weik’s classic, 'An Apple A Day' letterpress poster. It's a great way to collect those cute little fruit stickers (check out some of my collection here) and you know what they say about an apple a day - so it will help you stay healthy too.

"Just peel the little variety sticker from every apple you eat and affix it to a square. Keep it interesting. Try a Belle De Boskoop, a Newtown Pippin, how about a Peasgood Nonsuch, or maybe a Turley Winesap. There's no shortage of combinations and imagine how good you'll feel, when, after a years time, you've filled each square with a colorful little sticker."

The poster is 18 x 23" and available here for $24.

Enzo Mari's Nature Series

I love these screen prints from Enzo Mari's Nature Series; 'La Pera' (The Pear), 'La Mela' (The Apple), 'L'oca' (The Goose), 'La Pantera' (The Panther), 'Il Porcello' (The PIg) and 'La Mela e La Pera' (The Apple and Pear) - designed in 1963 for Danese Milano.

They're simple, graphic, bold and bright - typical of Mari's work. I saw them recently in a local design store and they are fantstic at full scale, but they can be bought online here.

Enzo Mari is an iconic product, furniture & puzzle designer, artist, writer and teacher born in Italy in 1932. To find out more about this wonderful Italian designer, there's a great biography here.

Lydia Meiying

Surface pattern designer and illustrator Lydia Meiying has some gorgeous prints on her website and in her Etsy store. Most are bright, colourful and incredibly detailed with exotic birds, flora and fauna - they scream Summer, holidays and cocktails, but some like the berries one (below left) are more subtle and delicate with a wonderful retro feel.

Autumn print from Hero

I love this new Autumn print from Hero Design Boutique, I think it totally captures the spirit of the season.

Beth at Hero says, "Autumn is my favorite season of them all. I love all the colors, the brisk air and the smell of the drying leaves. Every year I find myself in the most wonderful mood come mid October! This year I finally decided to capture that feeling in a print".

The prints are limited edition 5 color, 8" x 10" screen prints, printed on Accent Opaque Smooth White 100# and signed by the lovely folk over at Hero.

This print, and other great silk screen posters from Hero are available here and here.

Buffalo Prints

Hero Design Studio have just finished a great set of 4 limited edition posters for Buffalo Rising. They were commissioned, "to create, design and print four distinct Buffalo-themed prints. The results are four unique, beautiful, hand-crafted prints which capture different parts of the Buffalo identity".

Above are my favourite two - the typography and bold colours are great and I really love the industrial style graphics of the 'steel' one. Each print is a 16" x 20" screenprint in an edition of 150 and can be bought here or in person at Hero Boutique, 93 Allen Street in Buffalo, NY.

Richard Hogg: Of the Wall

Big thanks to Anna Fidalgo for letting us know about Richard Hogg's first solo show, Of the Wall at Concrete Hermit, London. The show opened last night and runs until the 29 August.

"Of the wall is a simple story about happiness, freedom, rebellion and its consequences, told across three pictures. Like a kind of triptych or a very simple comic. It forms the centerpiece of this show."

There will also be a large selection of new prints and drawings by Mr Hogg on display and a chance to get a sneaky peak at his forthcoming book, 'Car Boot Sale'.

Seb Lester Prints

Soma Gallery have some great limited edition prints from London based type designer and typographic illustrator, Seb Lester.

Seb originally studied graphic design at Central Saint Martin's, before specialising in typography and has created typefaces used by Dell, Intel and the New York Times. "Seb is passionate about letterforms which form the basis for his pieces. He brings letters to life with his animated illustration style and bold sense of humour." from the press release for his up and coming exhibition.
You can check out his work in person next month if you're in the Newcastle area as his new exhibition previews at the Electrik Sheep Gallery on 6 August. It should be a cracking show.

New Andy Smith Prints

Andy Smith's newsletter hit my inbox this morning with a great selection of his new work, including some new screenprints now available on his website.

These two are my favourites, I love the giant arrow - it's brown and pink so definitely hits all the right buttons and the chicken, well who doesn't like a big - err - chicken?!

Defiant Youth - New Shepard Fairey print

Defiant Youth is the new Shepard Fairey / OBEY screenprint available to buy at a random time on Tuesday 9 June for $55. The prints are an edition of 450, signed, numbered and limited to 1 per person/household.

Don't think I'll be attempting to buy this one - it's not one of my favourites, but I'm sure it'll be a sound investment for those that do.
