Auto Type XXIII

It's that time of year, the last few weekends have been car show-tastic so we have lots of new Auto Type to post up. Here's the first batch - mainly American with a couple of British classics thrown in for good measure!

Check out the full collection here and here.

Auto Type XXII

Auto Type XXII - Always a petrol heads dream, Goodwood Festival of Speed didn't disappoint again this year. Although there's a high percentage of new stuff, there's still plenty of oldies. Here's a selection... enjoy!

You can see our full collection of Auto Type here and if classic cars get your blood pumping, check out our sister blog Super Ninety for some beauties.

Auto type XXI

Auto Type XXI - some home grown and some more exotic examples from Goodwood Breakfast Club and last weekends GRRC classic track day.

I think the Mercedes Unimog has got to be the favourite of this bunch, it's not everyday you see that and I really like the type.

Roll on Summer car shows, to re-stock the Auto Type vaults. In the meantime, check out the rest of my collection here and here.

Our notebooks in the Barbican!

We're very excited to announce that a selection of our Hand Letterpressed & Saddle-stitched Notebooks and Happy Birthday Bunting Cards are now available at the lovely Barbican shop!

They're also still available from AT open house this weekend and in their online store.

From the reference box #124

#124 - More fabulous Carte-de-visite, some new additions to the reference box.

Both are from Sheffield, but from different studios; GV Yates, The City Studio (top) 'Portraits from life in oil or water colour' and the lovely little embossed one (bottom) is from James Tulley, Landscape & Portrait photographer.

You can see more of our Carte-de-visite here and find out more about them here.

You Are Here - UK Lance Wyman exhibition

Huge thanks to Finola Gaynor for letting us know about You Are Here: Works by the legendary American graphic designer Lance Wyman at the Norwich University College of Arts - yes, finally a Lance Wyman exhibition in the UK!

Finola curated the exhibition which will be showing, "some of Wyman's most notable graphic design and wayfinding projects along with other rare and celebrated works such as Mexico's first commemorative stamp" until 9 June 2012.

My favourite two pieces of his work are in the exhibition; the best ever Olympic poster (above) and elements from his US National Zoo signage that we posted about here, so I really can't wait to see it. I feel a road rip coming on!

The Gallery at NUCA is open to the public Tuesday too Saturday, 12 to 5pm and admission is free.

Graphis Annual 73/74

How great is it when you find a fantastic book at a super price and in a totally unexpected place? Well, this weekend I was fortunate enough to discover a copy of Walter Herdeg's, Graphis Annual 73/74.

It's crammed full of wonderful design, typography and advertising including some from Milton Glaser and Herb Lubalin - above are only a very small selection of my favourites.

If you want a copy yourself, there are some available on Amazon.

Printing cards for AT Open House 2012

We're going to be part of the AT Open House again in May this year, so every spare minute is being spent designing and printing, cards and notebook covers. Such great fun!

They'll soon be available on our Etsy store too, so keep checking!

Auto Type XX

Auto type XX - Lots more gorgeous marques including some English, Italian and American classics. I think these were taken at Goodwood Revival last year, which is always an amazing gathering of classic cars.

It's been a long, long Winter of no car shows, so I'm already looking forward to the new season!

See our previous Auto Type posts here or check out our full collection on Flickr.

Howdoos are back in stock!

Our Etsy store is fully stocked with Howdoos again - so what are you waiting for? Hop over here and get yours now!

American Sampler - The Art of Corita Kent is boxed 40 page booklet (14.8 x 21cm) and 6 limited edition prints (50 x 70cm) showcasing the beautifully bold and bright work of Corita Kent (formerly Sister Mary Corita Kent) that we posted about here.

This is the second large-scale publication from 50by70 created by designer Tim Fishlock to celebrate the work of wonderful artists and designers. It's only an edition of 350, so if you want one you better by sharpish!

Saw this Ed Hall poster over on Sell! Sell! - it's a nice little reminder at the start of the year and it reminded me how much I love doing what I do!
